ADDIS ABABA, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Ethiopian Airlines, Africa's leading carrier, announced on Monday that it has canceled flights to 10 Middle East destinations, citing airspace closure in multiple countries in the region amid growing security concerns.

In a statement, the airline said it had expanded flight suspensions to include six additional destinations after initially suspending flights to four Middle East destinations on Saturday, bringing the total number of canceled routes to 10.

The destinations include Amman in Jordan, Tel Aviv in Israel, Beirut in Lebanon, Dammam in Saudi Arabia, Doha in Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, as well as Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

"To avoid further inconvenience, passengers traveling to or from the region are strongly encouraged to check their flight status through our official digital channels," the airline said, adding that it will continue to closely monitor the situation and take all necessary measures to ensure the safety and convenience of its passengers and crew. ■
