JAKARTA, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia and Malaysia, two close rivals, ended their second game of Group B with a 2-2 draw at the AFF Under-22 LG Cup 2019 at the National Olympic Stadium in Phmom Penh, Cambodia on Wednesday, AFF disclosed on its website.

The battling performance gave the two teams one point each, keeping Indonesia at the second place at the Group standing, and Malaysia climbed to the third place.

Two Indonesia's goals were stricken at the 52nd and 76th minutes and the Malaysian goal at the 62nd and 86th minutes.

While Malaysia won their first point after losing to the host two days ago, for Indonesia it was its second point of the competition as the Indonesian squad look to wrap up the group with a match against Cambodia on Friday.

"We scored two goals but we just could not anticipate the set pieces. The Malaysians had to play a more direct game as they were struggling with open play. But the boys played better than they did against Myanmar," Indonesian coach Indra Sjafri said.

The fight was almost even in the first half although it was Indonesia who came the closest on several occasions.

"We need at least a point and the boys showed a lot of character today," said Datuk Ong Kim See, head coach of Malaysian team.
