SHANGHAI, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- Steel futures closed lower Friday in daytime trading on the Shanghai Futures Exchange.

The most active construction steel rebar contract for January delivery was down 28 yuan (about 4.00 U.S. dollars) to close at 3,412 yuan a tonne.
