KIEV, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese lantern festival is being held here between Dec. 13 and Feb. 2 to celebrate the upcoming New Year.

Over 30 large installations illuminated from inside will create a festive mood over the next two months at the Giant Chinese Lantern Festival which opened in Spivoche Pole Park in central Kiev, the capital of Ukraine.

The festival is made up of animation areas, a holiday fair, a weekend Santa Claus show, a food court with Chinese cuisine and a tea ceremony.
